Like many of you, I have favorite holiday movies I watch every year no matter what. I love to sing along, quote along, and cry along with my favorite actors. And sometimes I desperately want to rewrite certain scenes (I'm looking at you, Laura Linney. Ignore your freaking phone already!)
In the spirit of the holidays, here are some of my favorite movies, told in GIFS, of course :)
1. Elf - because Will Ferrell always, always makes me laugh. I have mad love for a grown man who will do anything for a laugh, and he goes all out for every role.
2. Miracle on 34th Street- a classic movie, especially gorgeous in the original black-and-white. If you can watch this and still not believe in Santa then I don't want to hang out with you.
3. Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer - my childhood favorite, with Rudolph, Hermie, and the Abominable Snowman.
4. Bridget Jones' Diary - because she's the everywoman heroine who ends up with the perfect guy in the end, after debating between Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. Tough choice, eh? (Colin Firth is always the perfect choice, in case you were wondering, whether he's Regency Darcy or modern Darcy).
5. And finally, Love Actually, because it makes me cry every single time, especially when my favorite Beach Boys song plays at the end. And because I adore Emma Thompson's honest and real portrayal of a wife and mum whose husband is...ahem...okay, no spoilers. And because I can yell at Laura Linney to ignore her phone, but she never listens to me. And because- lookie there- Colin Firth and Hugh Grant yet again, with some awesome booty shaking from Hugh...
and...Colin proposing on Christmas...happy sigh....
What are some of your favorite holiday movies?
